Gate 8 - The Price of Access
In Neo Noctis, real estate was expensive. Access was priceless.
Gate 8 is not a door. It is a claim, a route right, a private geometry, and the difference between running for fun and running for market value.
Official maps call it inactive. The Ledger calls it disputed. The Black Book calls it useful. None of those descriptions are wrong, which is why the argument keeps getting expensive.
A gate controls more than entry. It controls timing, camera access, emergency exits, betting windows, sponsor sightlines, and who gets to say a run happened. In Neo Noctis, a route can be worth more than the building above it because the building only holds people. The route moves them.
When Vey Sable asked about Gate 8, nobody heard a threat. That was the threat.
Gate 8 is not a door. It is a claim, a route right, a private geometry, and the difference between running for fun and running for market value.
The Archive is how G//LYDE opens before Volume Zero: story fragments, route lore, character pressure, visual drops, and files that make the sport feel lived in.
